Idc about this guy at all but don’t bash men who struggle to bond with their babies after birth. You wouldn’t do that to a mother who has postpartum depression. Parenting is a hard and strange journey and it’s different for everyone.
I didn’t say the experience is the exact same for men. Im saying that you shouldn’t shame people for the experiences they struggle to navigate, particularly when it comes to parenting. I’m a mother of two, I hemorrhaged with one and had a really hard pregnancy with the other and severe postpartum depression with both- what an awful person I would be to invalidate my partners experience just because it wasn’t as traumatic as mine was.
Certainly makes him sound like a shit head but agreed…. comment about bonding not always happening immediately when your life is turned upside down. Maybe just honesty. And most famous people have some wacky traits that can be spun as undesirable. Still wanting to like Ellen😀
He’s given me bad bad vibes since I saw his inside the actors studio episode whilst I was in America accidentally when flicking through channels, something about it was so odd and he seemed to be breaking out in fake tears every 5 minutes then stopping immediately.
Dying at your caption to your photo: “Not Ellen”. So, so good. This whole post was so good. May I also submit a contender for episode 2 of The Actual Worst? Sean PDiddy Combs. There’s of course all of the recent lawsuits but if you google clips of him in Making the Band (especially the Danity Kane season), you’ll see why I nominated him.
The apple crate thing is absolutely BAD labor policy.
But the zoning out and the closing your eyes so you can listen are such classic autism traits that I gotta object to them being on a list of why someone is the worst.
Maybe others have said this below: is it possible that Bradley Cooper is neurodivergent? Would explain everything on this list. Except a facelift — which I’ve heard neurotypical people get, too.
Thoughts exactly. As someone with AuDHD, I can contest. I still struggle to connect to my child. Noises are too much and I blurt out stupid things I didn’t really mean.
There has always been something I didn’t necessarily like but couldn’t put my finger on about this man, and THIS gives reason to that feeling. Thank you for your work 🫡
I find pieces like this to be an absolute waste of your/my time. You’re gifted in your ability to write - use language that sounds both meaningful and bright, making it a pleasant reading experience. But to waste time writing about people you don’t know, with such certainty… it’s tacky and tasteless. We’re all entitled to our opinions, and I’m the first to support that. But pieces like these feed our narcissistic need to be someone important with important takes, all at the expense of someone else’s life. I’m eager to see writers spend time doing actual, meaningful research and self reflection. Not this repetitive act of tearing others down and exposing their flaws, just for a few extra clicks. If you just insult and expose celebrities or people of influence, how about those who are actually causing harm? There are plenty!
I truly mean this as a hopeful constructive criticism. From one writer to another. Xo
Could not disagree more Kat Allen. This was a brilliant take on empathy under patriarchy. Bradley’s reflections on his newborn versus the maestro is everything. Such an important conversation. I am so grateful for this post today. Your strong criticism only makes the post more nuanced and interesting.
I thoroughly enjoyed this. I would love your commentary of Ashlyn Harris and her interview with Danielle Robay on the question everything pod. it was both unbelievable and unbearable.
Love your writing, but please, tell all about Trinny & the wipe. Xx

That's fair to say and I promise I wouldn't, if he hadn't made up a fake scenario about someone trying to shoot his baby...
Yeah that’s all weird af. I just had to throw that out there bc I don’t think it’s talked about enough 🫶
What life-threatening physical and hormonal shift do men experience during the birth of a child?

Thank you Stacie, that is so true.
don’t forget he dated suki waterhouse when she was 21 and was he 38…yikes
Rather than Ellen, I would have said Barry Manilow, but I am old. 😂
YES

YES! I saw this on TV way back when, before I really even knew who he was, and it’s informed my opinion on him forevermore!
This man dates nothing but fetuses of course he’s not going to bond with his baby girl.

Trinny did what now?! She says, as if that isn’t perfectly believable.
Being open about the complexities of connecting with your newborn is one thing, but the gunman follow-up..! Changes it, massively. Utterly wild!
In defence, not of Bradley but of eye-closing, autistic people tend to find eye contact painfully distracting when conversing.
But yeah… doesn’t seem like he’s willing to accommodate anyone but himself.
Yeah, there’s a lot of aspects of neurodiversity there, maybe he just isn’t aware.

Loved this article the “Not Ellen” sent me 😂💀
I tried watching Maestro. I couldn’t stomach how self important it was after 10 mins
Same. I really thought it was awful
You’re a better person than me. I couldn’t sit through it.

Agree 100%. So hateful and unnecessary.
this made me laugh!
