There’s always been something about TS that I don’t like, but can’t quite put my finger on. Sort of Mean Girls vibes - she has to be the queen bee at all costs. Like all that hype around ‘the squad’, the squad itself felt disingenuous to me, like a PR move. AOC, Ilhan Omar, Ayanna Pressley and Rashida Tlaib are THE squad.
Having said all that, Taylor Swift does have some absolute bangers.
I get such 'nasty' vibes from her and I can't explain it! I like her music and, other than the private jet scandal, there's nothing she's ever done that I can pinpoint but I just get bad vibes 😂
I didn’t realise that her reissues of the album was holding other women off the top spot
I have a bigger issue with the greed
It’s clearly a money grab by Taylor/her team as they know that a lot of her fans will buy every single version especially if she’s adding ‘exclusive’ content to each one
Just seems really shitty when she’s so rich and is also making crazy money on her tour (where the tickets are super pricey too)
I am a huge Taylor Swift fan and have loved her and her music for years. However, the number of “special” versions of TTPD (and even the re-release of 1989) does make me feel a bit uncomfortable. I hope it’s not a way to keep other women from the top, but even without that added layer, it encourages greed from her fans too, thinking they need 34 versions of the same product and all the merch that comes alongside it. Would love to see an end to this moving forward but not imagining we will
In... perhaps I think waaaay too much about these things but maybe relevant... But Charli XCX is going out with one of the band members of the 1975, and there's a track on her latest album (which is vvv good and I feel did deserve no1 and, as a Swiftie, I am annoyed with Taylor for this) which people think is about her comparing herself to Taylor and hoping not to see her "backstage at her boyfriend's show." Then when Gabbriette announced her engagement to Matty Healy (Taylor's ex but I'm sure everyone knows that) she did so at a Charli XCX concert so I think there's also a personal element to it all, but I really think Taylor should have just left it alone if so as this looks petty. (and yes I do think way too much about these things)
