Apparently, The Rock pees in Voss water bottles on film sets
Insiders have also accused him of arriving 7-8 hours late
Do you know what? There wasn’t even going to be a post today. I was so tired this evening, but it’s now 11.05pm and I have never felt more compelled to write.
There I was, watching my favourite YouTube show: H3, when they start reading out a new article from Wrap Pro (a professional film industry website).
Like, I’m sure, a lot of you, I love Dwayne The Rock Johnson. I’ll admit, he is one of the few celebs I would ask to have a picture with and I genuinely thought he could do nothing wrong.
Except that whole Hawaii thing…
Apparently not. If this article is to be believed at least…
The general summery is that, while, The Rock, has this reputation as the ultimate hard worker, his chronic lateness and “Lack of professionalism” on set, has led to a year long delay for his Amazon Prime movie: Red One.
Which happens to be a Christmas film about Father Christmas being kidnapped and subsequently rescued (I assume), by a special ops team and bounty hunter.
Not only that, but his production company: Seven Bucks, is being blamed for the product costs spiralling to over $250million.
Insiders reported to The Wrap, that The Rock showed up to set, on average 7 to 8 hours late, forcing the crew to shoot around him.
“Johnson was late an average of seven to eight hours per day and missed several entire days of production, ballooning costs by at least $50 million according to three insiders who insisted on anonymity for fear of being fired.”
When questioned by The Wrap, two production sources and One Seven Bucks source, denied this, saying he was only ever late by 1 hour.
However, The Wrap, also spoke to crew members who have worked with The Rock previously, who co-signed these reports of extreme tardiness. They also touched on alleged feuds between him and co-stars Vin Diesel and Ryan Reynolds, over his unprofessionalism on set.
Let’s be honest, none of this is great and definitely casts a big ole shadow on his “Hardest working in the room” schtick, but it’s the claims about his toilet habits that have left me wide eyed.
Allegedly, to save time when filming, Dwayne skips the toilet…
“On set, away from his trailer, if he needs to pee, he doesn’t go to the public bathroom,” one insider who knows the movie star well said. “He pees in a Voss water bottle and his team or a PA has to dispose of it.”
For fucks sake, Dwayne.
These claims were strongly denied, but turns out, The Rock has already confessed to peeing in Voss water bottles… but only in the gym.
In this video above, Dwayne, accidentally flashed his very full pee bottle. Could be a PR stunt you think, but in an interview with Esquire in 2021, he doubled down.
"I usually stay pretty hydrated," he said. "I need to go to the bathroom a lot. Not a lot, but probably a couple of times during a workout I have to go to the bathroom. So I break out the bottle."
Dude. You have the money to have a toilet plumbed into your gym. What is wrong with you?
Can you imagine picking up one of those warm bottles at the end of the day? Ugh, and I thought the Vauxhall public urinal was grim.
I know there’s worse things he could have been accused of. Let’s be real the standard for male celebrities is on the floor, but this just is horrible and I quite like a bottle of Voss every now and then.
Maybe I need to rethink that selfie after all….
Can confirm. Never saw him pee in any water bottles (?!) but definitely the 7-8 hours late to set thing. I was crew on one of his movies in 2017 and this happened every single day, to the point where we would be working almost 18-20 hour shifts every day, and by Wednesday we’d be on nights because of his requirement for turnaround. It was probably the most brutal show I've ever worked on. I lost all respect for him because I just thought you’ve no respect whatsoever for your crew.
Turns out (if you’re stood close enough) you really can smell what the Rock is cookin’ 🥴
